For design studios
Made for the business of design.
For studios of five to a hundred people who care about the craft and need the numbers to hold up. Just as usable for one designer working alone.
14-day trial of Studio. No card required.
Roles
Everyone starts where their work is
The same workspace opens differently for each role, and people see only what their role allows.
Designers
Start on Today
Their timer, recent work, the week’s bookings, any missing time and anything waiting for them. No finance dashboard, no budget they cannot act on.
Project leads
Start on their projects
Scope and revision rounds, approvals for their projects, the plan for their team, and each project’s health with its reasons.
Owners
Start on reports
Margin, capacity and cash across the studio, with every figure tracing back to the projects and records behind it.
Finance
Start on invoices
What is ready to bill, what is outstanding and what has actually been paid, kept as separate numbers.
In practice
One project, from the weekly plan to payment
Kite brand identity at Northline Studio, the fictional studio you can explore yourself. The figures are the sample’s own.
Monday
The plan meets the week
Priya sees Tom booked past his capacity. Moving 30h of motion work to Sam, a freelance specialist, fixes the week and lowers Kite’s forecast cost before anything is committed.
Wednesday
A fourth round of the logo
The logo system goes past its three included rounds. Priya prices the new icon work as CR-002: $10,000 and 45h. Even accepted, the margin would be 37.07%, and the project says so.
Friday
Weeks submitted, time approved
Designers send their weeks. Each project’s hours go to its lead, who approves or returns them with a comment. Approved time locks.
Month end
A milestone becomes an invoice
The $30,000 Identity approved milestone is invoiced and the deposit from signing is applied, leaving $15,000 to collect.
Clients are guests, not seats
Invite clients to see what you choose to share: client-facing projects, estimates, change requests and their own invoices. They never see internal costs, margins or internal comments, and they never use a paid seat. The full project portal is part of Studio and Scale.
Working alone works too
A one-person studio needs one seat. The timer, projects, budgets, invoices and online payments work the same way they do for a team, and you can grow into approvals and planning later.
